Emma Salmon is an artist whose practice explores how language, landscape and deep time continue to shape our relationship with the material world through acts of making.
My work spans jewellery, ceramics, sculpture and installation, with projects developing through research, experimentation and an ongoing engagement with place.
My background spans fashion, photography, editorial production and medical herbalism, alongside many years of working as an artist and maker. These different experiences continue to inform an interdisciplinary practice that moves between making, research, teaching and collaboration.
Based in the High Weald of East Sussex, I work from a landscape shaped by its own deep histories. Alongside my studio practice, I teach and develop site-responsive workshops and creative projects, sharing processes and ideas through making.
I am currently completing an MA in Contemporary Art & Archaeology, developing research into archaeology, ancient language, material culture and the ways in which knowledge and stories persist, change and are carried forward.
